Father Don Breier's farewell Sunday
We, the choristers, sang (accompanied by Ken and led by Don) at Father Breier's farewell Mass Sunday. His homily recounted how he was asked to accomplish certain projects by then-Bishop Wuerl when asked to be the rector of Saint Paul Cathedral. As he told his story, he thanked all of us, the congregation, for meeting those project goals (above and beyond). He also thanked us for the prayers we have prayed for him since 2006, when he was diagnosed with Stage II pancreatic cancer. He spoke in his homily that his agnostic physician said, "You'll make a believer out of me, yet." It is nothing short of a miracle that he is walking around today in 2012.
After Mass I met up with Mom and Dad for the reception for Father Breier. We sat with Ed and his mom, Wendy, Juliette Rose, and Joan K., and Kevin. We bid our fond auf wiedersehen to Father Breier.
We joined up with William's family for dance practice, and made plans with them to meet up this week.
