SAT 01 FEB 2020 to Leap Day 2020, SAT 29 FEB 2020
SAT 01 FEB 2020- Had a small sandwich for breakfast; went to work at the museum. Got a new contact numbers card. Stayed by the two T. rex specimens for 2 hours (2 hr:218). Visitors primarily from the greater Pittsburgh area stopped by, as did visitors from the tri-state area. A family from Argentina visited. I marketed memberships to appropriate groups.
Had a small lunch and stopped by the Oratory parking lot; went supply-shopping at a nearby drugstore; went to the second Mass of the afternoon---an anticipated Mass for the 4h Sunday in Ordinary Time/ the Presentation of Our Lord/ Candlemas. Fr. Peter Gruber celebrated with two Oratorian brothers serving. As it was Candlemas, too, those on the aisles had lit candles with wax catchers and the whole congregation was treated to aspergillum-sprinkling of water blessings.
DR and I went to see the movie Harriet, about the life of Harriet Tubman, this evening. Quite moving.

SUN 02 FEB 2020- Groundhog Day...."Early Spring," for what the prediction is worth! Cute little Groundpig is often incorrect...
MON 03 FEB 2020- Attended 1.5 water exercise classes. Physical therapy appointment with TD. Got my 2019 in order for tomorrow's appointment.
TUE 04 FEB 2020- D drove me to yearly squish and roll appointment. Took the bus back. Went shopping with M in Bloomfield (and grocery), and in the Strip District. Went back to pick up D for dinner at Arnold's Tea and Coffee. Stopped at the drugstore; will try snack bars from there. ~as conference meeting. Boy, do I have a lot to get done before the next meeting!
WED 05 FEB 2020- D and I attended Bible Study for the 05th SUN in Ordinary Time, facilitated by Fr. Mike Darcy, and attended by ~8 secular Oratorians and Bros. Joel H and Mark L. Great discussion about the light of the world (first reading), and the salt of the earth (Gospel reading).
Tnsha stopped by.
Hand laundry, cleaned out my ref.
Worked on a durable medical equipment problem (the never-ending story).
Worked on renewing my clearances.
Worked on a project (moving deadline from 03 FEB 2020) with M to get pretty smelly gift to MAM!
Worked on a project with D and M with Uncle Danny, researching, ensuring signing, drafting letter and email....
Time for a chocolate milk!
THU 06 FEB 2020- Called the surgeon's office to see if my durable medical equipment is ready yet.
Helped M send JAN/FEB data via the website. D drove me to my appointment (me and 3). Got messages to go to pick up my durable medical equipment in Shadyside. Had lunch in Oakland first. Rainy Rainy day today.

FRI 07 FEB 2020- I awoke reallly early this morning---my boss had sent us an email with cancellations of all school touring groups. Then, I heard on the radio that Pittsburgh Public Schools were closed today due to a snow day. Headed to D and M, had an apple with peanut butter; headed back home; helped M with some correspondence (letters, form, and email). Had lunch. Skipped water exercise classes, et al. due to SNOW day....A Snowy Day. My boss, P, even stated that all our tours were cancelled today, and that we should try to stay home....and be safe if we venture outside....
I need to prepare my materials for shipping.
SAT 08 FEB 2020- A great mid-late afternoon jaunt with DR to the olde timey ice cream parlor in the Strip District! I got a Turtle Sundae with a triple chocolate and with a vanilla scoop. Yummeee!
Worked on communications and preparing materials for shipping.
M and I watched Jeopardy! after dinner.
SUN 09 FEB 2020- D and M and I went to the Mass at the Oratory, spotted people we know, and stayed for donuts afterwards. Fr Paul W celebrated the Mass, and Br Leo served. Carole Di lectored, and the Oratory choir, directed by Fr Peter G, provided the music. Lots of little ones at this Mass. Chatted with Maggie and Kyle, and Keith, and Kristen.

Sent a current Smithsonian Magazine article on ancient board games to a handful of colleagues, along with its possible fate/s. Quite interesting, it included Senet, Go, Chess, Checkers, and Mancala.

MON 10 FEB 2020- CT taught the 1.5 water exercises classes which I attended, followed by physical therapy with Candace and R and Becky assisting. Met up with MVK for dinner (in town for appointments) at our fave grilled place. 1st time burger person was I! We did not attend the Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh composers concert tonight, as we were tired and the wet weather was uncooperative.
TUE 11 FEB 2020- I made us pancakes with grape jam and sunny-side up eggs for breakfast. Met for a meeting for planning; also got rid of excess paper.
WED 12 FEB 2020- Bible study (with D), Tnsha stopped by. Mailed out taxes this evening, thanks to JK and Co. Made my way to UPS store, US Postal Office for postage stamps...and back to UPS store for my appointment for FBI clearance.
THU 13 FEB 2020- Happy GALentine's day today! Annual unit inspection. Finished an art project after Picasso's Girl in Mirror; finished another project after a printer at ~a Pittsburgher's laser cut button. Choir Practice. Chatted with J and S before and after rehearsal. Happy Gal-entine's Day!
FRI 14 FEB 2020- Wind chill in single digits today. Did not go to water exercise today. Took care of things at home.
SAT 15 FEB 2020- D and M dropped me off to pick up supplies at the local drugstore whilst they went grocery shopping. We all made it back to go to the Oratory for a late afternoon Mass. Fr Joshua Kibler celebrated, with Br. Joel serving. We ran into C's sister, Leonard's mom-in-law, and I drove back to the drugstore to inquire about exchanging an item. Ended up keeping it.
SUN 16 FEB 2020- Made it chez D and M as they were preparing to go to Letty P's wake. Watched on NBC television the Penguins play a home game against the Detroit Red Wings (we did them in, DRW 1 to PP 5...Patric Hornqvist did a hat trick, but one of the goals may have been reversed). In Nashville, it was Discover Hockey Day.
Tita T, Tito Larry, and D and M retrieved me to go for great Chinese dining with N and B D in Bloomfield. Delicious! Much waving afterwards and the 2 D's drove us afterwards.
MON 17 FEB 2020- Happy Presidents' Day! Attended 1.5 water exercise classes---C, sister of K, was in the 2nd class. Had a large sandwich and drink from Forbes Avenue for lunch, followed by my physical therapy session. Handed off to M at PT an Order Form D for fundraising for Easter.
TUE 18 FEB 2020- All-morning meeting run by Mandi, as PH is away. Went over scheduling with Maddi, Gypsy Moths with Rosemarie Muzika, each of us suggested new Spotlights, and went over inclusivity. I had a steak Pittsburgh salad for lunch, chatted with Pat Mc on my way to a meeting with TP in HR, and got a ride this rainy day from D, each direction. Organized papers at home, had dinner chez D and M, watched Jeopardy! with M.
Got some fundraising for choir in today.
Time for watching the current Penguins game, or tuning in to the radio/ Internet.
WED 19 FEB 2020- D's big day!

Took M and D out for honest American food and brownie sundae.
THU 20 FEB 2020- Went for a sudden opthalmologic appointment in the morning. Picked up my prescription on the way to lunch, then went to the UPS store for my appointment for FBI clearance (moisturizer and oil layers before, several times; hopefully for better results). Meeting with AB at CMP HR to clarify some issues. Choir practice in the evening.
FRI 21 FEB 2020- REALLY cold, below freezing most of today. M, D, and I went for haircuts with L in Shadyside this afternoon.
SAT 22 FEB 2020- Went with D to S Side to exchange---short boots for jeans. I drove to donate 4 bags/boxes and a TV table, drove to the hardware store in East Liberty, had to go home (lunch, too), and went back with D to the hardware store.
MM and BF arrived, toting a full grocery cart of GSA cookies! Sales were made, cookies distributed.
DR and I went to Mineo's for a "small" pepperoni pizza, due to a song heard over the radio!
We spotted Bishop David Zubic there; he greeted us and spoke briefly with us.
SUN 23 FEB 2020- Preparing for Mass, Dr D C-A will visit before.
This is the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time; the last Sunday of Ordinary Time before Lent.
I was Lector (1) at noon Mass, Sarah R was lector 2. Fr Peter Gruber celebrated the Mass, with Ted D and Luke serving. Becky cantored, while Ken accompanied with the choir, led by Don.
Dad was one of the ministers of communion.

WA and MM's family came to celebrate Lolo's day! Lunch was shared; BF made apple pie with 4 apples, Lola's cinnamon, and Trader's Joe's crusts. Lolo made leche flan. The family left for inner tubing @ Boyce Park, with 50-degree temperatures!
MON 24 FEB 2020- Sat on a panel for a meeting at SL's department. There were 3 of us on the committee. Great---we made decisions to change the lives of 2 graduate students.
Had lunch at the basement of CofL and at UPMC.
Last physical therapy session for a while, including advice on which exercises to do in what environment.
Went back chez D and M, said hi to P.
Went home to rest, helped prepare dinner (as usual), had dinner, then watched NBC Nightly News and Jeopardy! Did the dishes.
TUE 25 FEB 2020- Mardi Gras! After the 12 noon Mass at Cathedral, Tita C and Tito J stopped by to pick up EJ's GSSWPA cookies, and to order choir candy. I went to Friendship/ Shadyside to make a produce/grocery run. Went to this year's Martin Luther King, Jr. Keynote Lecture at CMU by Brittney Cooper of Rutgers U. Quotes from the talk included:

WED 26 FEB 2020- Bible Study with D. Fr Mike Darcy led the discussion for this Sunday, the first of Lent. There were 9 secular Oratorians and Bros. Mark L and Joel H. Great discussion, during which we spent ~ 40 minutes discussing the 1st reading, from Genesis, about the Tree of Life.
Tnsha's last day. Jdn arrived with her. Gave her a housewarming gift, for her new place and for her family.
Finished an organizational survey for ~as.
Went to 17.15 Mass with D and M. Arrived 45 minutes early. Fr Josh Kibler celebrated the Mass, assisted by some Oratorians, including Br Leo and Fr Steven Lowery. I liked the homily by Fr Steve, which discussed not necesarily the secrecy of the relationship to the Father (as mentioned in the Gospel reading), but more importantly the intimacy of that relationship.

Went to a building meeting in the lobby at 19.00. Had a fish sandwich with onion ring and lemonade for dinner.
THU 27 FEB 2020- Visited with a friend in Oakland this morning. Did a meditation on green rolling hills afterwards. Left one hill unfinished, to show the artistic process. Lunch chez D and M. A nap pour jeudi.Choir practice----turned in my candy order to JM.
FRI 28 FEB 2020- Below freezing all day, and wind chill in the teens. Stayed indoors for the bulk of the day. Did not go to water exercise today.
SAT 29 FEB 2020- Chatted by phone with colleague SN about the Leap Day Jaguar diorama scene. D drove to the library; I got a ride to the museum. Great Jaguar spotlight (179:2 hrs, 13.00+)! Most visitors were local or from the 3-state/ Tri-state region. A few were from North Carolina. Such a great crowd. Jaguar: leap:: cheetah: run :: leopard: descend/drop
Took a brief nap after, D drove M and me (us 3) to the Oratory for Mass. Fr David A celebrated the Mass, Br Joel H served, Dorothy lectored. D and M and I went for burgers and fries in Shadyside afterwards. Typed up and scanned notes from CMNH (discussions and Spotlight presentations). Helped M and D with correspondence this evening; chatted by phone one more time with SN regarding the Leap Day Jaguar (she is presenting the Spotlight tomorrow).
