Police Funeral motorcade, 9 April 2009
Just a few minutes ago the police funeral motorcade for three officers killed this weekend passed in front of my building on Fifth Avenue.
I see:
police cars parked on Fifth Avenue as far as the eye can see---the farthest cruiser is from Maryland, I saw PA State Police cars, Tonawanda, Strabane, etc.
a little girl looking out her window, rolled down, of the travelling van, saluting, her face tear-streaked,
I see through a veil of tears the three hearses, each followed by cars, vans, and minibuses filled with family and friends.
An emotional moment.

On the way to and from physical therapy this afternoon, I saw a cruiser from Rochester, New York; and an officer from New Castle, PA waved at me outside the window.
