Redding up will have to wait
There is a phrase in Pittsburghese, "redding up," which means getting reading, picking up, cleaning up. It is found in the Pittsburghese glossary as "tidying up." As I take care of the last few duties at work this week, I have put off redding up my home, including decorating for the holiday. Wait, scratch that--I have let my house GO. I have not tucked my laundry into the bin, I need to run the dishwasher, I need to pick up my papers and books around the house, I must recycle some of my clothing. I emanate a sigh, and get back to my grading until then.
