Wednesday- Bible Study, Visit to Campus, Phyllis visits, America's Got Talent, Hillary on the Tonight Show

Wednesday- This morning Mom and I walked to Bible Study and met Dad there.  We read and discussed the readings for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Cycle B). 
Wis 2:12, 17-20
Jas 3:16—4:3
Mk 9:30-37

From Fr. Drew Morgan's notes, after discussion of the Gospel reading, he shared his notes with us after the Bible Study:
Spiritual childhood
Paul gives us titles worthy to aspire to---if we are trustworthy---titles that entail duty, "Servants of Christ," "Stewards of the Mysteries of God." [1 Corinthians 4:1-2]
But Jesus still leads us to the child as an image of himself and of his true disciple--He who is without power or pretense as the Lord and Master of all but one who came to serve--not to be served.

What wonderful thoughts! 

I visited campus afterwards to pick up tickets, and chatted with Phyllis before she and Mom went to tea in Shadyside.

Mom and I watched the finale of America's Got Talent.  Very surprised that Oz (the mindreader) did not win.  Also, the "professional regurgitator" did not win, either.  The multi-tasking, multi-talented ventriloquist did, over a stuttering comedian. 

Saw the local news, then Hillary Clinton on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.  They did a skit in which he portrayed Donald Trump at the start of the show.  In the interview that followed, she was relaxed and joked with Jimmy.  She was, in short, a natural, had fun, and it showed.
