Sabado de Gloria / Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday 2017

The Mass started after sunset---
THE SERVICE OF LIGHT
The bishop entered with the seminarians in darkness from the end of the nave entrance of the Cathedral. The Mass started at 20.30.

Bishop David Zubik sang the Invocation: Christ, our Light!
We sang, in response: Thanks be to God!

A Seminarian with a softer, gentle voice sang the Easter Proclamation, to which we responded a sung Amen.

LITURGY of the WORD
Ed lectored Genesis 1: 1- 2:2
Sean cantored Psalm 33, with the choir (us) singing the response.
Carole D lectored Exodus 14: 15- 15:1
Linda & Sean cantored the Exodus Canticle, with the choir (us) singing the response.
The third reading was Isaiah 55
Linda cantored the Song of Isaiah, with the choir (us) singing the response

Festal Gloria (Donald K Fellows)
Easster Alleluia, Good News Acclamation, Psalm 118 (James Chepponis), sung by the choir and cantored by Lindo O.
Gospel: Luke 24: 1-12 read by Deacon Chuck

The Homily was delivered by Bishop David Zubik about tenderness and a lettter he had received and the women who returned the favor of Holy Thursday on Easter Dawn, and he asked them to use their feet to deliver the news to the apostles, to RUN and deliver the news.
