Marriage of Figaro
Jo-Anne and I went to the Marriage of Figaro at the Byham Theater tonight. Absolutely enchanting! Sara P. from Church was in it, and Jonathan and his date were in the audience, too. It was sung in an English translation, and it was interesting to hear opera in English. We were so taken by the performance, that we gave them a standing ovation.
I remember hearing opera in Italian at Verona, following along closely with the libretto. How lovely and liberating to hear opera in English!
