Describing Microbiology Lab to Beatrice (Two 1/4 Years Old)
I spoke with Beatrice a few minutes ago. She asked me what I did today. I described to my 2 1/4 year old niece Beatrice serial dilutions, spread plate technique, and colony identification by characteristics:
I played with water today.
I put the water on the plates...
There was stuff in the water.
Then I looked at the plates.
What did you do today, Beatrice?
"I ate a lot." (They stayed in during the yucchy weather that included alternating snow, rain, sleet, heavy snowflakes, light snow, and rain.)
Beatrice left me a message on my voicemail last night that was, "Are you having a good day?" What a thoughtful, kind sentiment.
