Heinz Chapel Choir, December 2010
Joe, Tina, Don, and I attended the Heinz Chapel Choir's Music of the 2010 Holiday Season this past Thursday before choir practice.
I dutifully noted that Katie from choir was assigned a solo (sadly, on a different date than our attendance).
The prelude on "in Dulci jubilo" by Buxtehude was played by Steve Anisko.
The choir then sang
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
Caritas et Amor (R. Stroope)
Bogoroditse Devo, Raduisya, a Russian piece by Rachmaninoff
Fall Softly, Snow (Daniel Moe)
The audience then joined them for
O Come All Ye Faithful
Followed by an organ interlude
Chant du Berger (G. Merkel)
The choir then sang
O Blessed Light, a commissioned piece by Robert Schulz
Hymn to the Virgin (B. Britten)
The Lamb (J. Tavener)

The audience then joined them for

Santa Claus is Back in Town (Elvis) , and Eric Weaver (soloist) played it for all it's worth!

The afternoon concert concluded by a postlude on "In dir ist Freude" by Bach.
