Hearts and Roses- PAPAGP's Winter Ball 2015
On Saturday, the Philippine American Performing Arts of Pittsburgh Winter Ball was held. Dinner consisted of green salad, bread and butter, with an entrée, garlic mashed potatoes, and string beans with steamed strips of red peppers. Entrees were chicken, fish, or vegetarian. Dessert was chocolate cake and cheesecake, as well as homemade coconut tarts, Linzer bars, and large cookies.
After dinner, there were dances performed by the younger set (tweens and under), and by the older dancers (middle school and up). The younger set performed a dance to music from Frozen. The older dancers performed dances from upbeat popular music. The cotillion portion of the program consisted of presentations of the dancers in pairs, escorting each other. Solomon happily individually escorted each girl in his age group.
After the performances, we had DJed music for dancing, including line dances such as the Electric Slide and the Shuffle.
Throughout the evening we had performances by the group H.I.S. Josie Crooks and her friends sang popular music for us before, during, and after dinner, as well as for open dancing.
A fun evening!
