Sunday- Televised Mass, Benny's Birthday Celebration with Family

The televised Mass this morning was celebrated by Fr. Nick Vascov with Deacon Chuck Rhoads.  Debbie Zugates cantored, and Mrs. and Mr. Ed Wilbur lectored.  The readings were:

Reading I: Dt 30:10-14
R. (cf. 33) Turn to the Lord in your need, and you will live.
Reading II:  Col 1:15-20

the Gospel Reading was the Good Samaritan story:
Lk 10:25-37
Fr. Nick hearkened back to the first reading and the Gospel, as well as recent incidents in the past few days during his homily.  He spoke of the beginning of the hymn, "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me," and how it is not a distant hope, but something we can make a reality now.

Fr. Nick mentioned that the two young girls serving as altar servers were on their first day serving, and hopes that they would continue at St. Paul Cathedral.

I will repair some of Mom's jewelry before the parental units go to Mass, and we will go to celebrate Benny's Teen Birthday at Phyllis's place, where they are staying.
