Happy St. Nicholas Day!

I was the pinch-hitting lector at morning Mass this morning with Fr. Brian celebrating, John serving, and Don providing music ministry. It was the Memorial of St. Nicholas, a saint of old, and I believe that children in the Nederlands and other countries place their shoes outside the door on St. Nicholas Eve to await receiving presents in their shoes. His day is celebrated by the Eastern and Western Churches alike.

After Mass, we joked about felled music stands (was it only a week ago when that stand "sprung"?) and lack of heat.

Well, back to the grading and administration of practical exams....
