These vignettes were part of my week:

Why did you assign that to that student?
me: I don't know... ...because I knew [the student] is on top of things and could deal with it.

Elevator talk:
neighbor: "Was your day successful?"
me: Yes, it was.......Nothing happened that I couldn't deal with [it].
The same neighbor indicated also that it would be necessary to look at the day to determine if it were successful [spoken like a true engineer].

ALL my students in all my class sections successfully collected easily interpretable data!

Walked out of work Tuesday and looked up in the sky to see and hear a hover of crows take wing, calling and cawing to each other in the dusky, blue sky, circling and swirling about the trees on my side of and across the street.
