La Traviata
For Mom's birthday I took her out last night to La Traviata at the Benedum Center. I drove and parked in Maureen's favorite garage. We watched the talented Anna Samuil as Violetta (her vocal turns and trills, especially in the first act, were nothing short of thrilling) with Giuseppe Varano as her new beau, Alfredo. The second act, scene one, started with a Watteau-like painterly set. We enjoyed our Orchestra-level seats, replete with the supertitles. The program cover was graced with Roseanne Wholey and David Conrad, community donors, as Violetta and Alfredo. A wonderful time out with my mom!
