MON 09 OCT 2017- PITT's Fall Break is today. I slept in, and it was Columbus Day. I did some grading, went grocery marketing in Bloomfield, and sent an email to the instructional team...got a response, and went to the LEGO Ninjago movie with Debbie at the Waterworks Mall. Jackie Chan's and the Pakistani-born comedian's voices were in the movie, as was that of a fellow from Saturday Night Live.

Debbie told me that a PITT student was pronounced dead in her off-campus apartment in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This story from KDKA news mentions interviewing her neighbors.
