Friday, start off Pinch-Hitting as Lector at the Mass for the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle

This morning I arrived at Mass less than five minutes before it started.  John De F asked me if I would like to read, which I did, after quickly finding out about the Mass, celebrant, and entrance and recessional hymns.  (Didn't have a chance to scan the readings before Mass.)  As with the Mass on Monday (Ss. Peter and Paul), we sang
For All the Saints Still Striving,
with the appropriate second verse for the day.  Today's Masses are celebrated for the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle.  Fr. Richard Ward was our celebrant, with John De F serving and Don providing music ministry from the organ loft.  Don played a rendition of "Ubi Caritas" during Communion, during which ~37 congregants received the Holy Eucharist.  We sang "We Walk by Faith" for the recessional hymn.  Saw Dad and retrieved my bag after Mass.  Spoke to Oscar V and Rosemary after Mass.

After lunch Dad and I met up with Marissa and the children at putt- putt golf (miniature golf) near the Coraopolis bridge.  We did all eighteen holes, enjoyed the water fall and the water features of the course, and we each made our own frozen yogurt sundaes on Craig Street.  I will meet up with them after dinner for music and fun in their neighborhood!

Walked to First Fridays at the Frick this evening with William and Marissa's family.  We sat under a group of trees, BeaBea and Solomon made kid's crafts (with a photo taken of BB's wind sock by the Frick docent), and we all enjoyed the string quartet music, provided by Carpe Diem Quartet.
