Happy New Year 2007
New Year's Eve 2006/2007 was spent at Mom and Dad's place. We watched the live coverage from Downtown Pittsburgh of the ball rising and from Times Square in New York City of the ball dropping. We talked about the year we spent New Year's Eve in Manhattan, and listened to Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl give accounts of the past year on channel 2. We rang bells and jumped up at midnight, and we ate sotanghon for long life. I actually made it to midnight this year!
New Year's Day was uneventful, I napped for part of it, and went that afternoon with Judi and Jonathan to Barb's home up north. We had punch, ribs, veggie strata, crackers and dips, bread, and a cookie tray, too. After a round of telling stories, Barb brought out her mom's guitar and we sang some Christmas carols, followed by more seasonal music with Jonathan at the piano. What a fun time we had! We even discovered Judi's soprano voice. Happy New Year, everyone!
