Up early
to grade papers....It'll be unusually warm today, with highs in the mid-50s Fahrenheit. Fall has come and gone; winter's been here for a few weeks now.

I heard on the radio this morning that it was a balmy 66 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday, breaking the temperature records by a degree---the temperature records set in the late 1800's. I noted when I went out yesterday that it was humid (due to the rain), warm, and there was that scent of burning wood (probably due to fireplaces). The combination was slightly reminiscent of my visits to the Philippines.
It was also very cold last night....
