Sixth Sunday of Easter, 21 MAY 2017

SUN- 21 MAY 2017- This Sunday it was just a skeletor crew in choir with Don at the console and at the music stand.
Saw Michelle and her friend Aisha before Mass and I promised to talk to them after Mass. Fr. Brian Welding celebrated the Mass.

Michelle, Aisha, and I walked Michelle to her bus stsop. We then ran into Sarah R and all three of us went to Eat Unique. Afterwards, I went to M&D's to get my wallet. We went to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History for the rest of the afternoon. First we ran into the Carnegie Mellon University Computer Science grads, who toted multicolored light sabres. Then we tucked our items away in my office. Then it was through Dinosaurs in Their Time, to Fossil Fuels for a brief snack, Then up through Bird Hall, Egypt Hall, and then the Snow House and the American Indian Hall.  We three shared a Mezze platter at a local Syrian restaurant for dinner. What a wonderful afternoon well-spent with new friends!

MON 22 MAY 2017- Worked at the museum that morning, led a group of 7 pre-K children and their adults through dinosaur hall. In the evening I worked on paperwork with C in Squirrel Hill. Michelle L and I switched lectoring days this and next week.

TUE 23 MAY 2017- We had our docent meeting, and Pat McS gave an additional presentation, in addition to Pat H's talks and administrative meeting. Then, we had the Spring potluck. Had a long nap and worked on my Word files on the computer.

WED 24 MAY 2017- Did Laundry chores. Had three tours at the museum: two grade four tours in Dinosaur Hall in the morning; one Three Cultures tour for 12th graders after 13.00. Got a pretzel to eat somewhere in there!

THU 25 MAY 2017- Went on a tour of Magee Research Institute for Life Sciences Week. Well organized and informative. We had about 7 people touring about. Saw Tina S from Carnegie Science Center. No choir practice tonight.

FRI 26 MAY 2017- The morning Mass was celebrated by Fr. Adam Verona for the Memorial of St. Philip Neri, who had a sense of humor and liked practical jokes. Ken provided music ministry from the portative organ near the Marian altar. We sang "Rejoice, the Lord is King," as the entrance hymn and "Regina Caeli" for the recessional hymn. I lectored.
The first reading was ACTS 18:9-18
Psalm was PS 47:2-3, 4-5, 6-7
Fr. Adam read the Gospel, JN 16:20-23

Was raining when I left, and I will watch the webcast from WC this morning.
Saw David walking in with the faculty procession. Spotted Mme Secretary arriving. Heard the student speaker, Pres. Paula Johnson, and the 3 announcements for the Pinanski teaching prize, as well as the announcements for retiring faculty, which included David, Bill Q, and a French faculty member. Then the commencement speaker, Mme. Secretary Clinton, which is now being followed by the graduates' names being announced as they cross the podium to be greeted by Pres. Johnson. Graduates' diplomas will be available in Clapp Library until 14.00 today!
