Discontinued a B supplement for now, for a while. Today was my last physical therapy with C T-E and J for a little bit (this Rx).
On the way home, I retrieved materials for sample collection.
Bible Study led by Fr Mike; readings were from the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time. About 8 participants, including D, M, and I were on the Zoom call. I was honored to read Reading 1 (Is 58:7-10), Francesco read the Psalm (Ps 112:4-5, 6-7, 8-9), Laura read Reading 2 (1 Cor 2:1-5), and Fr Mike read the Gospel Reading (Mt 5:13-16). I pointed out during the discussion of the Gospel reading that the word "salary" comes from the same root as "salt," (for Roman soldiers were often paid in salt), and if you read the Gospel reading replacing the word "salt" with the phrase "(the) potential to do good," it gives a different spin on the meaning of the word "salt." ...For this passage, it is better than thinking of solids, various anions paired with various cations, and Ksp's with respect to faith.

Ground pig/the ground hog's day...the little fellow saw his shadow, therefore/allegedly 6 more weeks of winter (Surprise in Pittsburgh)! I noted that statistically, he is wrong.
Took the bus to get more materials for sample collection.
At ~18.40 to 19.20 I attended the Artist's Party for the 6X6 paintings....Le vernissage de l'exposition des peintures, which included an opportunity to Make 4x4 and/or 6x6 marker painted cardboard tiles. I made 2, and left one, then hurried to choir rehearsal. L hosted snacks. Chatted about Holy Week.

Even colder temperatures today.
Went to work through the cold for the Staff meeting with the Apsaa'looke Women and Warriors visiting exhibit, which opens tomorrow to the public. The curator from the Field Museum and 6 other Apsaa'looke people were on a panel/spoke to us. One of the speakers and I spoke about the balloon in the news.
Went grocery shopping at Palenkeng de Malaking Aguila in Shadyside.
It was in the teens Fahrenheit today; the wind chill brought the temperatures down to the negative single digits. Needless to say, I skipped le vernissage de l'exposition des peintures at the STEAM education neighborhood center.
SAT 04 FEB 2023
Zoom yoga this morning led by SCN. A few of us stayed to chat about Pterosaurs, Dinosaurs, Birds, O my!, especially SCN, HS, and I.
Attended Heidi Schreck's play What the Constitution Means to Me at City Theatre in the South Side. It was previously Off-Broadway, on Broadway, on tour, and it is now in Pittsburgh.

The end of the production had an interactive portion with the audience, and included local faces, from the main star Heidi (Tami Dixon), to the American Legionnaire/Mike (Ken Bolden) all the way to this afternoon's debater, who is a sophomore at Fox Chapel High School (Swati Mylarappa). The last portions of the program included unmasking from character to have the actors reveal, and then portray, themselves in a debate format.
I ran into my neighbor, D, for the 2nd time this week, and we chatted.
Spent some time scanning files into the computer. Spent some time with M doing online quizzes. One was on advertising jingles, and there was an article on Lucille Ball Arnaz.

We celebrated the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Fr Kris Stubna celebrated the Mass. I recognized Antonio as one of the altar servers. Brian Redmond was scheduled to lector, the lector who read was very clear. Carloz G was our scheduled Eucharistic Minister. Linda Ortenzo cantored, with Ken Danchik at the Beckerath console and Brian Gurley directing the music.

Family Google Meet today! Great conversation and great fun with the sibs, D, and M. US was unable to attend, as he was judging a local high school public speaking contest. He judged "speeches to persuade" on social media's effect on people.

My imaging appt was cancelled, and rescheduled. Had a medical meeting today, then walked to meet D for his imaging appointment. We picked up burgers and drinks for dinner with M.

We got a reminder at the end of rehearsal and before Mass today. Fr Steven Palsa celebrated Mass with Deacon Tom Berna. Penney Hokaj was the scheduled lector, and Thao Dinh served as Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. All Staff Zoom meeting this morning. Went with D and M to the warehouse store in Homestead to shop for grocery items. Also went to get kefir and more grocery supplies in Homestead, as well. Had a meeting with a friend, and a meeting with DM, B, and C for group.
WED 15 FEB 2023
M and I went to the neighborhood drug store to get D's Rx, health supplies, and chocolate. I drove (via circuitous route) to M's doctor. We had burgers and fries for a late lunch, drove home the way suggested by the nurse.

Early this morning, during BBC News brief, a story was broadcast announcing that a teenage girl was found alive, buried in the earthquake rubble. Her uncle hugged each of the rescue team, stating that he would not forget them.
I attended an ADA informational ZOOM session sponsored by my alumnae center for work and service.
Senator John K Fetterman, a first-year US Senator from Braddock, Pennsylvania, is recovering from a stroke and the newspaper (Post-Gazette) just announced that he checked himself into Walter Reed Hospital for treatment of depression. Pennsylvanians are praying for his swift recovery.
Soon it will be time to have dinner before choir rehearsal.

Yoga Zoom class facilitated by SCN. About 5 of us attended. Left to go grocery shopping for humbang baboy. Stopped to chat with a worker there, turned out that it was SW! Went grocery shopping at Friendship/Shadyside for even more fresh items, too.
Talked PE with ER from PEMS. Had a good go at designing a museum exhibit.

Choir Holiday! After seeing part of the 10.00 Mass on television with D and M, I lectored the noon Mass, both readings, as usual, since the onset of COVID. Fr Kris Stubna celebrated the Mass, Mackenzie, Maran (sp?), and one other child were scheduled to serve. Ted Wojcik was the faithful sacristan. Linda Ortenzo cantored, with Brian at the Beckerath console.

MON 20 FEB 2023- President's Day
The never-ending birthday party (well, maybe for a week). D and I were sent out to pick up a Chinese food order. M and I spent the morning preparing food. Tita L and Tito C arrived first, photos were taken, then Tita T and Tito L arrived, bearing her homemade dark chocolate cake glazed with chocolate glaze and candles. More numerical candles were added to the atmosphere by M. Conical paper hats made for the Birthday Song singing atmosphere...But not until after we had finished some of the the ginger mussel soup, the adobong humbang baboy, the capelli d'angelo in clam sauce, and plenteous shrimp with mixed vegetables. After chatting for a bit, I retired to take a nap and to pay bills due soon (most at the end of the month). Wrote a short note on a card for KEA, which I will post tonight.

Zoom work meeting for my subdepartment---welcoming some of our new co-workers into the fold. D had an appointment in the South Hills. This afternoon, I repaired a tile I had crafted.

The Bishop's Homily was quite inspiring. At the beginning of his Homily, the Bishop mentioned Pope Benedict XVI and his passing. He spoke about the Dictatorship of Relativism, and how, during Lent, we can choose to die to our false self. "God has created us to be," he said, and we have senses: Sense of speech, sense of sight, etc. If our sense of speech is gross, vulgar, or unkind, for example, we must die to that false self. Likewise if our sense of sight is jealous of others, or objectifies in a lustful way, we must die to that false self. We have feet, and we must walk away from people who are not water for our spiritual growth. (a paraphrase)
"Happy Ash Wednesday," He mentioned the 1st and 2nd readings from Joel and from Paul, and that Good Friday this year is on 07 APR 2023. We must have the Grace to be (ready for it). He mentioned 3 points in the Gospel reading: Prayer, Fasting, and Good Works. We must be wary of the manner in which we pray, and be certain that we are not "just going through the motions." Likewise, we should be wary of the manner in which we Fast; that we not have miserable faces and sure that "nothing stands in the way of hearts. As for Good Works, we must be genuine, honest-to-God disciples...it must be Christ that must be in us. Today, we will come forth and receive the sign of the Cross (on our foreheads).
We must be filled with "God's Grace" and "embrace our True Selves." This is truly possible "not (through) us, but through the strength of His heart, full of ...Love."
Nathan Sudie distributed the ashes to us, and was a Eucharistic Minister, too.

Michael (who was in graduate school with RF-F, who also attended) and Dr Helena translated the statements from 3 generations of Paramount Chief Afukaka's family, 3 generations of Portuguese speakers. Us museum employees had a chance to ask questions. I asked how the changes in the environment in which they live have caused changes in diet. Paramount Chief Afukaka answered that manioc, fish, and native fruit are mainstays of their diet. Michael Heckenberger translated that the Nation uses ceramic cookware to prepare food. Michael also stated that some elders are ecological encyclopedias, but there is an arc of deforestation. A basin can dry out, due to wildfires, which are an annual threat. If there are 2-3 years in which there is (wildfire) burn, there is a (considerable) loss of (soil).
I also left an envelope for SCN.
Choir rehearsal this evening. It was ~65 degrees and downright balmy when L and I went home after rehearsal this evening.
