Memorial Day 2016
After scoping out various microwave ovens, yesterday (SUNDAY) early evening Mom and Dad and I went to Home Depot to purchase one. The problem with it was that it did not work.
Back to the computer to scope out more ovens. I found one at Macy's, and was planning on joining Mom and Dad, but my cough got in the way. I have been at home, resting, this afternoon whilst I provided them with the specs of the microwave (only problem is that it has buttons that are difficult to read).
...Just called Mom to remind her of the dimensions of the shelf.
Ocular Migraine, May 2016
I'm currently having an ocular migraine. It started like a shimmery crocheted/ knitted string in my upper Left part of my field of vision. Now it is multicolored, shimmery, taking up most of half of my field of vision, curling through half my field of vision---like a double helix-type shape that has varicolored rungs....
I hope it doesn't last long, nor visit me very often.
We were watching the National Memorial Day Celebration when it came on about five minutes ago.

Week Before Memorial Day 2016
Still fighting this wicked awful pneumonia.
MONDAY 23rd May- Saw my orthopedic ankle doctor re: my recent MRI and to plan for surgery. The afternoon was spent on the Provost's Diversity Training through CIDDE; this afternoon for students of Chinese culture.
TUE 24th May- Spent the morning in the Provost's Diversity Training through CIDDE on religious diversity.
WED 25th May- Late morning meeting about First Year Students' seminar class.
THU 26th May- No more choir practice for this season.
FRI 27th May- I observed Valerie and Andy, each did a tour on animal adaptation. I was impressed with how the docents engaged the middle schoolers, utilizing all parts of the museum and using hands-on materials and inquiry-based learning!
SAT- Today was a rest day, drinking lots of salabat cool tea to keep the coughing at bay.

Pentecost week 2016
Monday-- I rested, couldn't breathe well. Mom and Co. east to the Eye Clinic for evaluation.
Tuesday was the Docent monthly meeting, and the potluck. I spoke to Arika about a recommendation. Mom and Dad and Co. returned home after the Eye Clinic evaluation.
Wednesday afternoon, Provost's Diversity Training through CIDDE for our transgender students.
Thursday morning, Provost's Diversity Training through CIDDE for our disabled students, Thursday afternoon: Appointment with Dr. Lori. She gave me new symptom medications and a new round of antibiotics. I stayed long enough at our last choir rehearsal to pick up some disposable masks from a friend.
Friday, museum observations of two tours--one by CW, of a class of first graders, some with autism-spectrum qualities, and a very small tour with Anita, of three middle-schoolers, with special needs. There were twelve students and two adults in the first group and two adults with the second group.
Today (Saturday) Pratima picked me up and we had lunch in the Carnegie Café. I had a turkey po' boy sandwich with macaroni & cheese, and she had a veggie panini with a fruit cup. The food and the conversation laissent les bon temps rouler. Marissa and Solomon met up with us and we headed straight for the (last day of the) Pterosaurs exhibit (the "Pterosaurs Going Away Party"). Immediately, Solomon and I headed for the virtual/interactive flying and fishing pterosaur. Solomon, when it was his turn, took flight and dove to catch a fish, at which he was successful! We then went back to the beginning of the exhibit, and then ran into Georgia, who was conducting a Spotlight: Pterosaur Jaws and Teeth, with modern-day toucan bills and owl skulls. After exploring the Ptero Store, Marissa and Solomon headed to the library, and we to the fluorescent rocks and minerals. Pratima and I chatted over mango buttercream yellow cupcakes and hot beverages. Solomon hung with us whilst Marissa retrieved bags for the library books from their car. After they headed out, we did, too, and after fond farewells, I took leave at home.
Sunday - Pentecost- and gyros for lunch
Sat with Mom and Dad in the congregation for Pentecost Sunday Mass. Fr. Adam and Deacon Chuck celebrated the Mass. Perrin H and Elizabeth B lectured, whilst Christina Mc cantored.
Mom and Dad and I went for turkey and for beef gyros for lunch---delicious! I rested after lunch.
End of the Week May 2016
Thursday, I sat in the audience and listened to the choir sing. It is our penultimate choir practice for this season.
Friday was observations of Shelley for three cultures and Phil for geology. We freshmen docents chatted with Patty and Joann about our experiences for about an hour.
Today: Easy day. Will attend my students' art showcase this afternoon.

About five of my students attended. Notable were the "lemon-lime" student, as well as the student who painted/ drew three pieces.
Jen and I met up after the art showcase. We went to King's restaurant, where I enjoyed a side of macaroni 'n' cheese. It was a rainy night.

Sunday night: I have trouble sleeping. I go over to Mom and Dad's and Dad hears rales (wheezy) on my right side. They tell me to call the primary care physician's office first thing on MOnday.
MOnday: Get an appointment for my PCP's practice on Monday right after my orthopedic surgeon's office visit. Ortho asks me to get imaging done before surgery. PCP's colleague has me get two X Ray views---I have pneumonia. Dad and I tag-team to pick up my OTC and Rx meds, and a digital thermometer.
Tuesday: Rest day. Miss museum training.
Wednesday: Rest day. Miss Bible study. SPoke with Maureen and another friend.
Sunday with the flu.
Thursday I picked up my items at the Hughes Lab on campus. Friday I lay low, did not go to the museum, as my case of the flu worsened. I also uploaded scanning software for my computer's health and safety Friday. Saturday I uploaded MS Office, with the help of the computer gurus at work.
Today I slept in. I helped mom with a poem from a Nebraska newspaper called "My Mother," which she used to recite at her elementary school for their annual Mother's Day program. This flu is awful!

Tuesday- Still training at the museum, dropped off my computer @ 3.30, Kelly and Kyle stopped by on their way home from Montreal, the Rake's Progress with Debbie @ the Benedum, got a flu!
WED 4 May- Faculty Picnic, and stop by the computer lab at work
THU- Watched the bulk of the Ascension Mass from St. Paul Cathedral. At the comp lalb at work.
