WED 09 OCT 2019 to THU 31 OCT 2019
WED 09 OCT 2019- Had the breakfast buffet at the Bistro. Free day in Baltimore. Rita B and I visited (via the Charm City Circulator) the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (including the crypt, where Eucharistic Adoration and praying of the Rosary during the Rosary Convention were occurring), and we were planning to go to the Baltimore Museum of Fine Arts, but due to the bus scheduling, ended up walking to the Walters Art Museum (Visiting floors 4 and 2--primarily Impressionism and Ancient Egypt).
I took a brief nap on our return, then took the bus with the rest of the group to the Museum of Visionary Art. I started at the top floor and worked my way downstairs. The first floor gift shop was wonderful, in and of itself.
Dinner was (after a little confusion) at the larger of the two Mama Rosa's Filipino restaurants. Lovely buffet. There was a class meeting afterwards, during which I packed my bag at the room.
THU 10 OCT 2019-We ended up at the breakfast buffet at the Bistro again, today. An uneventful journey with a couple of stops, as driven by D. Dinner was burgers, fries, shakes, and drinks in Shadyside.
FRI 11 OCT 2019- Early morning physical therapy with TD. Midmorning Water Exercise class. Formed 2-4 clay items. Set them on a shelf to dry.
Mostly emptied my freezer---of shared meat-based items---brought them to M's home. Brought some frozen vegetables, as well.
SAT 12 OCT 2019- Returned a library book. Learned how to search certain websites today. Got some free donuts from the Donut Run. K + k will visit later today, or tomorrow. Went with Mom to the late afternoon Mass at the Oratory.
SUN 13 OCT 2019- k and K visiting. THey did a ropes course with BF. Had great fun.
MON 14 OCT 2019- One year post-operation X rays and check up with the doctor. His fellow visited first; was glad to hear the doctor say, "...see you in one year!" in an upbeat tone. Lunchtime appointment with physical therapy; no arthritis class due to Sukkot. K + k left for home.
TUE 15 OCT 2019- Work meeting at the museum. SN gave me a ride home; with just enough time to have lunch before an appointment in Oakland, including a student.
WED 16 OCT 2019- Bible Study with Fr Mike and ~9 of us for this Sunday's readings,the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle C.
Tnshia and Aaron stopped by.
THU 17 OCT 2019- Was planning to meet a friend for a trip to the museum today; she wasn't feeling well, so no meeting. Take care of administrative work via phone calls today. Sent photo link of Harvest Hapunan PREP to Nenette and Dee. Choir practice tonight. Exchanged contact info with friends, signed up my family for the Gratitude for Volunteers dinner.
FRI 18 OCT 2019- Water exercise class. Worked on a plaque, a Christmas gift/s, and some clay items. Signed up for a conference coming up. Took care of my timesheet at work.
SAT 19 OCT 2019- Went ~2 hours early via MB's great driving to the PAPAGP Dinner Fundraiser. I made signage for the event; MB brought colorful, pre-printed signs. Dra RR and I worked the bake sale tables. Took a break to dine with M, D, DR, and MP (she stopped in from San Francisco to cheer for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, as DR cheered on the Penguins). Later briefly visited the table with SC and MM. I believe it was a successful fundraiser. Marc-Andre Fleury kept the LVGK net safe from his former teammates....
SUN 20 OCT 2019- Wore a black and blue dress today---it was high in the 60s Fahrenheit. Attended Mass at the chapel today, Fr Paul Werley celebrated Mass, with two brothers serving and lectoring. Caught up with Jen P after Mass; she is moving to SB, IN after the New Year. Met her friend Janet, as well as Janet's children, whom I helped to round up in front of the building. Delicious leftovers for dinner tonight.
MON 21 OCT 2019- Today I took care of phone and email correspondence, assisted M with electronic issues, and walked in the 70+ degrees Fahrenheit weather to the library, albeit slowly. Chatted with C, my "hip sister," for a bit. Returned a library book. Walked back, had more delicious leftovers for dinner tonight. Watched Jeopardy! with M, the new champion from West Hollywood tonight.
TUE 22 OCT 2019- Early morning physical therapy with Marianne and Trevor.
WED 23 OCT 2019- Bible Study facilitated by Fr Mike Darcy, attended by Bros Mark and Joel +10. We read and contemplated the readings for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle C. Quite a lively discussion from those attending.
Tnshia and Aaron stopped by.
Took an afternoon nap. Watched Jeopardy! with M. Spent about an hour cleaning.
THU 24 OCT 2019- Purchased cane tips for my daily cane, whilst on my way to a meeting in South Oakland. Went to the remembrance project "Lest We Forget, " by the German- Italian photographer and filmmaker Luigi Toscano. It contains 5' x 8' photographic portraits on mesh canvas of individuals...individual survivors of World War II's Holocaust:

I spoke with the English teacher of the local girl's Catholic school, who had brought her class there for an afternoon tour of the outdoor exhibit. We both agreed that the exhibit was powerful. There were survivors due to: Resistance workers hiding them, strangers hiding them, other families taking them in, Kindertransport children to England, and on and on. One of them had survived a concentration camp, coming out at 75 pounds. Another was handed a gun upon being liberated by Allied troops and was told to shoot anyone they wanted, and discovered what it meant to be human that day.
Some people do not believe the Holocaust existed. It is only because the extermination was not complete that we have survivors' accounts. Thank the Almighty for that.

Soon, D and I will head to the dinner for SPC. I arrived post-Exposition, yet in time for the homily/prayer by Fr Kris Stubna, Intercessions, Pater Noster, Prayer, Benediction (including Tantum Ergo Sacramentum): Prayer, Blessing, and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

FRI 25 OCT 2019- Went to water exercise class this morning and worked on glazing a couple of pieces meticulously today...a plaque and a gift for WA. Headed back, had a large snack/meal. Got ready for a night out!
Attended Handel's opera RINALDO with DR. All but one of the characters were portrayed by women. The vocal gymnastics were well performed, and all the duets were well-matched. The premise was that the company were friends who had convened for a game of Dungeons and Dragons! Although the superscripting did not work throughout the production, the emotive power of the singers portraying the characters was strong enough to carry the production. Anna Sophia Boyd was the tenor RINALDO: She was joyously, gently radiant in the role. The production was at the large Chosky Theater in the Purnell Center for the Arts, adjacent to the Randy Pausch Bridge leading to the Gates Center.
SAT 26 OCT 2019- Super Science Saturday and Booseum Trick or Treat were celebrated at the museum. I did a focused spotlight at Fred the Crystal skull (110: 2 hr). Walked to and fro. Watched a couple of evenings' worth of Jeopardy! with M.
SUN 27 OCT 2019- I lectored (1) with Jim (2) today. Fr Peter Gruber from the Oratory celebrated Mass. The sacristan was Ted W, additional servers were Eleanor and Luke. Linda O cantored, and Don directed the choir, which was accompanied by Ken.

Went for shopping in the Waterfront, chatted with M & R Harper, got gasoline. Had lunch at the food court.
Had a nap.
Dinner consisted of Costco chicken with mango, and rice.

TUE 29 OCT 2019- This afternoon, M and I went shopping in Bloomfield, including groceries. Also went to pick up medicines in Friendship/ Shadyside. Went to use coupons at Arby's.
WED 30 OCT 2019- Bible Study in the morning with Fr. Mike. There were Bros Leo, Mark, and Joel present, as well as 10 secular Oratory congregants. The readings were for the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time (Cycle C), and the Gospel was about Zacchaeus. My contribution to the discussion was:
Right in the middle of the Gospel reading is a key word for the whole reading is "joy," as there was an attitudinal change in Zacchaeus, a change within him: He was ready to accept Christ.
THU 31 OCT 2019- Warm Day for Halloween! The end of the day/ evening was as warm as high 60s Fahrenheit, even until 22.30. Early morning physical therapy, D from L stopped by. No choir practice tonight.
It is not as warm on the morning of 01 NOV 2019, as the actual temperature was in the 30s Fahrenheit, and the feel-temperature was in the high 20s Fahrenheit.
