Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time- 25 JUNE to 1 JULY, 2017
Dad and Mom and I attended noon Mass today. Fr. Adam presented a good homily on "What do you fear?" His Liturgy of the Eucharist, was, as usual, with significance. Vince and Geri lectored. We chatted with Regina's extended family after Mass and spotted Don after his great organ postlude.
We headed to Costco in Homestead after Mass for grocery shopping and a pizza lunch. Carmen chatted with us after lunch, and we loaded up the car to head to the Carnegie Main Library. I renewed some books, returned one, and then had many grand--yet vain--attempts to find any version of Mom's In the Woods book (as she has lost the ability to read on her e-book reader). I got a new book by the same author (large print version), but this was not the ideal situation.
After some cookies and juice I'm chillaxin' at their home.
MON 26th to FRI 30th I'm attending a seminar, meetings, et al. Started back uptown on TUES 27th. Lots of new faces, but also some old faces, too (such as Feynman, who is all of 60 pounds and just as rambunctious as ever)! Debbie and Kayla stopped by to say hi. Lots of excitement.
THU 29th JUNE- SH and I went for a walk to the Schenley tent and back at ~ 19.45. It was a warm, humid evening with a slight breeze that made me think I was on vacation somewhere,,,Pittsburgh! I told SH that we should remember this day for 6 months from now.
FRI 30th JUNE 2017- Completed and demonstrated skills and competencies in the Development Dimensions International Customer Service seminars in Communication with Impact and Taking the H.E.A.T.
Stopped by in human resources at one place to take care of some paperwork. I have brushed and flossed at least 3 times this week so far...also rinsed a couple of times, as well.
SAT 1 JULY 2017- Paid some bills this morning. Led a tour at 11.00 and one at 11.30 through dinosaur hall. There were at least four youngsters in each of both tours. There was a solid group of about 12 comprising the first group (with a family from London, Canada), and a group of about 10 total in the second group. Had a Spotlight about the headdress of ancient Egyptian royalty/ Uraeaus/ image of Egyptian cobra until 2.30PM. Went to the Carnegie Public Library to look up some things, to visit Terri and Mary Ellen, and to pick up Mom's book on reserve. 81
Debbie and I met at the People's Gas Gate to go to the concert of Boyz II Men, Paula Abdul, and New Kids on the Block. B2M were 50 minutes, PJA was 40 minutes (both until 21.00), and NKOTB were until ~23.15. We had a grand time! Debbie was nice enough to give me a ride home.
Week of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ 2017
SUN 18 JUNE 2017- Actually slept in today, until ~ 8.30. Caught up with some chores. Couldn't find my "Body of Christ" medallion, so forewent wearing that today...just one of many.
After we attended a Mass celebrated by Fr. Kris and concelebrated by Fr. Tim K (his parents were Eucharistic Ministers today, as well), and Linda provided music ministry from the altar, Mom and Dad and I met William at the new poke restaurant in Oakland. SO great and so filling. S was sick at home with Marissa, B was at camp.
Made halo halo with the new ice shaver from the Left Coast. Rested at home, caught up with paying bills.
MON 19 June 2017- Spent most of the day organizing the hallway and the BRoom. Met R for a light dinner/ eats at a Pan Asian place near her concert.
TUE 20 JUNE 2017- Spent the early morning emailing people, then cleaning for the good portion of the morning. I fielded/made some phone calls in the early afternoon, then was free to work on the computer the rest of the afternoon. Made halo halo for Mom & Dad. Cooler today, high in the low 70s Fahrenheit.
WED 21 JUNE 2017- Worked on a fax from the insurance company this morning. Dad and I went to Bible Study with Fr. Drew (14 +1) this morning. Had a screening this morning, which Dad drove me to.
Had a phone appointment in the afternoon with Linda R re: next week. She was very giving of her time and expertise. Sent out some correspondence this afternoon.It's warmer today..the high 70s Fahrenheit.
THU 22 JUNE 2017- Brushed, flossed, and rinsed tonight (BFR).
FRI 23 JUNE 2017- Stopped by HR at the museum to do my policy acceptances. Led a couple of groups of "Get Lost" campers through the Native American/ American Indian Hall. Dad and Tito Larry went fishing today---Mom and I prepped dinner for them, and Tita T. and their friend, Effie. What a spread, with sinigang, chop suey, fish in black bean sauce, hamon, rice, etc. etc. and then halo halo and pumpkin spice cake for dessert. BFR.
SAT 24 JUNE 2017- Mom and I watched Dad as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus in the Ceremony of the ordination of priests for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Bishop Zubik presided. The following were ordained to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood:

Aleks Schrenk
Dan Waruszewski
After the homily, the Bishop questioned the candidates...and they responde with their promises.
Then, there was an invitation to prayer, and the congregation knelt while the elect participates in the Litany of Supplication while prostrated. The cantor, Charlotte, led the singing. Then, there was a laying on of hands by Bishop Zubik and by each priest present in turn. There was
a Prayer of Ordination,
Investiture with Stole and Chasuble, and then the
Anointing of Hands--Bishop Zubik anointed each one's hands in turn with Chrism oil, and boud them in prayer formation with a white cloth,
Presentation of the Gifts by people selected by the new priests,
Handing over of the Bread & Wine to the New Priests by Bishop Zubik.
This was followed by the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
We spotted Frs. Kris & Adam, Frs. Brian W, Sam E, Joe S, et al.
Fr. Jim directed the Diocescan Choir and Carnegie Brass, Don was the Organist.

Met Fr. Tom's Mom and sister while waiting to go with MS to the Carnegie Museums. We stopped in the Art Store (no Eysel), through Dinosaur Hall up to the Power of Poison, then through Bird Hall to Walton Hall of Egypt, Polar World, American Indian Hall, Heinz Architectural Center, Architecture Hall (for interactive goggles-and-headphones experiences), and then to Mom and Dad's for a box of "mostly graduate level" chemistry textbooks.

Holy Trinity Sunday, 11-17 JUNE 2017
SUN 11th JUNE 2017- Went to an earlier Mass so that we could celebrate a family Mass, then met up with William's family at a Pan-Asian buffet in Monroeville for lunch. Celebrated Grandma's 99th birthday.
Went to the choir loft to attend Ken's 4.00PM organ concert. Liz and friends were there, as was Regina. Don, Lisa, Doug, and Judi sat in the congregation to ring "carillon" bells below.
TUE 13th JUNE 2017- Went to the Orientation for a seminar I will attend later.
WED 14th JUNE 2017- Dad, Mom, and I went to Bible Study with Fr. Peter G. We talked about the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (which is this coming Sunday), and about several miracles, including the one in 1263 in Italia.
THU 15th JUNE 2017- Went to the second annual Diversity & Inclusion Seminar at the University of Pittsburgh. Missed some calls because I was attending to insurance/ bill issues. Attended the 40th Anniversary of Disability Rights Pennsylvania, and its awards ceremony, with Debbie in the evening. A flooding downpour drenched the city during the ceremony, but we were safe in the IBEW ballroom. The woman who spoke on behalf of Rich Fitzgerald mentioned Michelango and "freeing" an angel from marble. Quite moving.
Linda Dickerson, well-known by many there, spoke with the aid of her computer after receiving her Lifetime Achievement Award.
FRI 16th JUNE 2017- Caught up with phone conversations on FRI.
SAT 17th JUNE 2017- Helped with Laundry early. Made cherry-juice- infused craisin and plain pancakes for everyone's breakfast. Went to Aldi's to get OBOE= Oranges, bananas, Oatmeal, and Eggs.
In the afternoon I did a Spotlight on the Gaboon Viper, as part of our Power of Poison visiting exhibit. Today was also Jurassic Super Science Saturdays. Dr. Matt was on the first floor, answering guest questions.
I had over 100 visitors interact with the Gaboon Viper diorama...a wonderful day!
That GI virus/ flu of June 2017, and bouncing back from it!
Very early the morning of the 3rd JUN 2017 I awoke to extreme vomiting and diarrhea. it lasted for about three hours, subsided long enough for me to get a couple of hours of sleep. Soon after it started I kept Pat H apprised, and sent ~2 more messages that morning, as I was scheduled for a spotlight in BOtany Hall SAT afternoon. Right before the museum opened (@ 9.25 AM) I called (in my stupor) the docent office, leaving a message for the lead docent that I would be absent SAT afternoon. By SUN I felt much better, but kept a distance from others, and I did forgo choir practice and Mass, Christina's baby shower (but handed the hand-made booties, with my poem, to Regina to deliver for me, which she kindly did), and the Philippine-American Performing Arts of Greater Pittsburgh (PAPAGP) board meeting.
MON 5 JUN 2017- I changed the M BR linens. Rested and got more strength back.
TUE 06 JUN 2017- I was scheduled for one tour (G-3, Geology & Dinosaurs), but added a second (G-1, Animals & Dinosaurs). My first tour group got to meet Dr. Matt L, "our resident paleontologist," and got to see the "near bird," described by him before continuing too far into the tour.
07 WED JUN 2017- 4-5 docents had a big no-show morning today---we were disappointed, but went about looking @ and planning future Spotlights and tours on this cold, overcast day. Made tacos for lunch.
08 THU JUN 2017- Spent most of the day sorting through a box of medical files...shred, toss, keep. Went for a walk with my cane, of course, with S from choir. She and I ended up walking to and chatting at the Frick Fine Arts Center on campus.
FRI 09 JUN 2017- Made some phone calls today; got some things finished.
SAT 10 JUN 2017- Cleaned more files out, went to work for a Spotlight on the Destroying Angel, which kills about 2/3 of the people who eat it. Several visitors from Ohio; some from India. Found in Botany Hall (2 hrs:77 total). Many of the survivors require liver transplants. Contains a cytotoxin, amatoxin.

as Wonder Woman was, "Yay! She's Wonder Woman [but she has to wear that unfortunate costume!]" I have to admit that I had that thought a few times during tonight's screening of the film, even though her "bathing suit" offered more coverage this time, as Debbie pointed out. I did miss the fact that Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman would spin to change from mild-mannered Diana Prince into Wonder Woman.
I liked the fact that the current Wonder Woman character spoke many different current and past languages, including ancient Greek.
Awesome film!
We stopped by/ windowshopped @ Target and went to Trader Joe's as well, where I spotted a large bag of oranges.
We watched Maroon 5 with Adam Levine YouTube video of "Sugar," in which they crash wedding receptions on the 6th December 2014 throughout the Los Angeles area. Great!
