Back to Physical Therapy last and this week!
Last Wednesday had my physical therapy evaluation. Had two PT sessions this past week, and for several weeks out (scheduled). Also, had my yearly scan (in 3D this time!) on Saturday. There was a utilities problem in an adjacent neighborhood then, and part of the bus route to Carnegie Mellon University was still closed today. Cat-sat for a friend 3-7th, 13-20th, and part of this weekend. Low grading this weekend (relatively speaking), compared to the deluge expected next week, which is then followed by Spring Break week.
At the end of this work week I was offered and accepted a part-time position at a local museum. I'm really excited about it!
Dad's Home!
Dad was dizzy Thursday, went in for observation, CAT scan, maneuvers, etc. He was released for home FRIDAY PM. Glad you're home, Dad. Met his roommate, too.
Thursday LEctoring, Dad's Birthday, Choir, Bible Study, and Eddie the Eagle
Last Thursday FEB 18th, I lectored at morning Mass. Don provided music ministry, John DeF served, and Fr. Mark celebrated the Mass for Thursday in the First week of Lent 2016. We sang for the entrance hymn "O Sun of Justice," and "O God Our Help in Ages Past" for the recessional hymn. About 30-40 people received the Eucharist.
This weekend was Dad's birthday, as well as a typical Lenten choir Sunday. Kelly and Kyle came up to celebrate.
Today Dad, Mom, and I went to Bible study (for the Third Sunday of Lent) and I read the Gospel reading (Luke 13:1-9) for our group. (Some situations or people need a little extra care/ stewardship.) After grading and such, Debbie picked me up to go to the Waterfront for an advance screening of the movie Eddie the Eagle.

A great movie based on the story of Michael (Eddie) Edwards, the first British Olympic ski jumper in about half a century to participate in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. A feel-good movie.
The movie opens this Friday.

A week and a half... Sunday the 7th to Wednesday the 17th February
On Sunday the 7th, a typical choir day on the last Ordinary Sunday before Lent.
Molecular Biology Lab 2 that week.
Wednesday the 10th, I visited the Utrecht store in the South Side to scope out supplies. I lectored at the six o'clock evening Mass with Vince (who did the first reading). The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Zubik, concelebrated by Fr. Kris and Frs. Mark T and Adam V. Deacon Chuck served, as well. It was a true honor.
Thursday the 11th I ordered and handed off an order to Pam for this March's class. I also went to an informational session at the natural history museum.
Friday the 12th, I went to our weekly meeting.
Sunday was Valentine's Day, and that morning I found out we needed lector replacements. I volunteered, and Gerry G and I lectored Sunday for noon Mass, thus, my skipping choir practice and choral singing during noon Mass.
Week of Molecular Biology 3.
Last night (Tuesday the 16th) after work, I went to an organ concert in the St. Paul Cathedral Concert Series by Szabolcs Szamosi, the music director at St. Peter Cathedral in Pecs, Hungary. He played a virtuosic program of Hungarian music, Kodaly, some J.S. Bach, Bartok, Franck, and a simply awesome Prelude and Fugue on BACH by Liszt to close the hour-long program. The runs sounded effortless and mighty on the Beckerath, which was amazing, given the nature of the instrument. Wow.

On Thursday I lectured for morning Mass. Fr. Mark Thomas celebrated the Mass, John De F served, Ken provided music ministry from the portative organ, and Emily was on television ministry. About 44 people from the congregation received the Eucharist. Ran some errands. For a late lunch/early dinner I took Mom and Dad for sushi buffet in the North Hills.
Friday I went to work early to grade at my desk there in Crawford. We had our work meeting regarding the second week of the Molecular Biology module. After, I relaxed for a bit before going to the Philippine-American Performing Arts board of directors meeting.
Today (Saturday), I took care of administrative issues for my art class. Made egg salad sandwich for lunch. Took a fairly long nap. Ran some errands, as I did Thursday, too.
MON, TUE, WED- Teaching Days, Laundry, Bible Study, Grading...
Had my teaching days early this week. Had a student stop by after lab early in the week, too. Genetics simulator presentations, new groups, and the start of the molecular biology module.
Did laundry early yesterday and got vitamins and aspirin for Mom and Dad after teaching yesterday (TUEsday).
Today (WEDnesday) Mom and I met up with Dad at Bible Study. Readings were from the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time:
First Reading Is 6:1-2a, 3-8
Ps 138:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 7-8
Second Reading 1 Cor 15:1-11
Gospel Lk 5:1-11
I read the second reading for the group this morning. After Bible Study, Fr. Drew blessed our throats (today is St. Blaise's Day), and all three of us went to Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel.
I've been grading today since.
