Back to the Station
This Monday, a week after the Birmingham Bridge reopened to traffic, I boarded the bus to the radio station to record two shows and a spot for the Q & A show that will air the week of April 4th through 10th, which includes Joe Wasserman, RIS board member and listener, with Carol Sikov Gross, certified elder law attorney. It is the latest interview episode that will air on my program, and the second one that includes Joe and Carol. The first one was a show on Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and Wills.
I hope that my interview shows are helpful to my listening audience. I try to provide insights on topics that would be of interest to the listener through the Q & A format.

A VA Tech-style shooting at Northern Illinois University today.
Today we commemorated Sts. Cyril and Methodius...Oh, it's ~~St. Valentine's Day, but this day was taken away from him. It was good to read from the book of Esther, Dad was the pinch-hitter for TV ministry, Fr. Brian celebrated the Mass, John was the altar server, and Don was the music ministry. I brought little candies to share after Mass, taped greeting cards to Mom and Dad's door, and graded this morning.
Marissa and Dad witnessed my signing of the combined advanced directive & POA (Beatrice was there), which I tried to deliver to my doctor's (PCP's) office. I picked up a script, and ordered tickets to the Ballets de Monte Carlo with Pratima later this month. My legs were tired after all that walking, and I took a nap.
Off to choir practice soon.

Choir practice went well (amid discussions that included spirometers), we enjoyed Mary Louise's chocolate snacks, after an opening of Altoids (original) before practice.

William, Marissa, and Beatrice were at Mom and Dad's after practice was over. It was good to see all of them to end this ~~St. Valentine's Day.

Lunch with Beatrice, et al.
I had lunch with William, Marissa, and Beatrice at the Carnegie Mellon UC this afternoon. Afterwards, William signed my updated combined advanced directive/power of attorney, and considered the chocolates for sale by the choir. Marissa and Beatrice drove me to Mom and Dad's (where I took a great nap) before they headed to Magee-Women's hospital.

I just signed my first (and currently my last) Will. One of my friends from choir, Virginia, has indicated that one is necessary, as we are traveling overseas.
So, yesterday I borrowed three books from the library on Will-writing and last night drafted a Will. It was useful to see Wills for Pennsylvania, on-line examples of Wills, simple Wills, etc. It made the writing process easier. (I had first written major points that I wanted covered in the Will, then referred to the sample wills for more ideas and wording.)
After George, Elaine, and Rita witnessed and Ida notarized my signing of the Will, I felt very happy to have my intentions indicated for me and for when I go into the great beyond.

Running Errands, June 2007
Today, I re-heeled my shoes for CHOIREland; visited the Carnegie Public Library downtown to get information from the computer, as well as to get information on writing a will. On the way back from the cobbler, I ran into Huang Xiang and his wife, Zhang Ling, near her workplace. I then photocopied my travel documents, and printed up some sample wills.
Beatrice will visit me tonight, while William and Marissa attend "Billy the Kid," a production by the Quantum Theater.
